AC Shadows Introduces Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Material
Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime series. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly featured a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
