Incredible $30 Map-Making Software Bundle Represents a Online Gaming GM's Dream

Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back for a limited time that lasts until Dec. 2. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the complete package carries a value of more than thirteen hundred dollars. Additionally, there exist multiple package options available here.

The Main Attraction

The standout feature is certainly a lifetime license for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to create everything from fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

A regional fantasy map generated in Campaign Cartographer 3+.

Bundle Tiers

Basic Package

The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four from the thirty-nine available products: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Monster Token Pack 1, Source Maps: Castles!, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 offers enhanced value by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. Cartographer's Annual is the annual collection from the company's ongoing subscription program which includes multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

Starting at thirty dollars, the 39-item bundle includes all the following:

  • Advanced Terrain Generator
  • Dungeon Designer 3
  • Urban Planning Software
  • Cosmic Mapping System
  • Viewpoint Enhancement

All 17 volumes from the Annual series come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, dungeons, urban centers, and land masses from almost any perspective. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the complete collection is so worth it, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly more advantageous for cartography beginners since it includes introductory guides to help you get started. The sole limitation though the purchase is available on any platform, the applications only function on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

Similar to previous bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, though users may also choose any amount for a donation on the right side of the page. There's also an donation allocation menu just below that, allowing you to adjust the distribution percentage allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
